Regarding the concept of “shaken self”, there is an inverse of it, where people who just did a good deed are more likely to do something  socially sub-standard ( I can’t find a better word, but for example to be rude or throw piece of trash out of car window)afterwards, because they feel they can now “afford” to do it. As in: “I did a good deed and earned some karmic points and can now spend them”.

I remember reading about it someplace, sometime ago – but can’t find it now.]]></description>
