I came here through your recently FP-ed post on the Personal Myth, but this post is as excellent as any other. Especially the last paragraph spoke to me in a pretty dramatic way.

I am now undergoing cognitive psychotherapy, and recently got into a pretty depressed, zero-self-worth state when I recognised some of the bad triggers (the shadow beliefs) and yet after that euphoric moment, nothing changed, I kept making the same mistakes or even making them worse.

I am now trying to get to grips with it and figure out what I can do to manage those behaviours. Are there any posts on next steps on your blog?

In reply to <a href="https://scottfenstermaker.com/what-are-shadow-beliefs/#comment-554">2011leaguechamps</a>.

Hi Adam. Thank you so much for the kind comments. As you noted, I am not inundated with comments...but that means that individual replies like yours are very meaningful to me. I really appreciate you reading and taking the time to say something.

I think I would improve my following if I wrote more than once a month, but these articles take a surprising amount of energy. Maybe I can improve my output after I'm done with grad school, and I somehow teach myself that it's okay if some entries are less than 800 words. :-)

Thank you again!

Apologies if I've written this twice...

Despite the fact that you don't get inundated with comments, I wanted to thank you for writing these articles. I get a lot from this blog, it's definitely high up on the list of must-reads.

I also wrote you an e-mail about friends who you give way too much power too, and you replied excellently... I didn't actually thank you for that, but I got a lot from it.

Thanks heaps!

Man, I have to admit, this really is my favourite blog to read. Thanks so much for spending the time to create these articles, and although you're not inundated with comments, I'm sure there are a few people like me who read these posts with total interest.

I also wrote you an e-mail ages ago on friends who we give way more power to than we actually should, and your reply was excellent. I didn't actually thank you for that, but it give me a bit to think about.

Thanks!
